At this year’s ESCOE Conference on Economic Measurement, John Forth presented the latest methodological insights into ASHE sample bias.

The Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence (ESCOE) at King’s Business School is a hub of world-leading expertise built around the analysis of emerging and future issues in measuring the economy. On 15th May 2024, John Forth presented “Revisiting Sample Bias in ASHE –with implications for estimates of low pay”. This research provides an update on the project’s earlier investigation of sample bias in the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE), along with a revision to estimates of low pay, extending the work through to 2023.
