The WED Project team is pleased to be partnering with Administrative Data Research UK (ADR UK) and The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to host another Special Session at this year’s Royal Economic Society annual conference. The session: ‘Expanding possibilities for economic research with linked administrative data‘ will be held on 8th July 2026 at the University of Newcastle.

This session will showcase innovative administrative datasets that are opening up new opportunities for policy-relevant economic research.
Presenters will introduce researchers to ADR UK’s flagship datasets, including RAPID (Population Interactions with Employment, Benefits and Pensions) and the WED project’s linked Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE) data. Speakers will demonstrate how these datasets are already being used to answer important research and policy questions, and will highlight future opportunities for analysis.
Attendees will have the opportunity to share their experiences of using administrative data, discuss barriers to access, and help shape future priorities for data linkage and research infrastructure.
Whether you are already working with administrative data or are curious about how these linked datasets could support your research, we would be delighted to hear your perspectives.
