26th Colloquium on Personnel Economics (COPE) 2024

The Colloquium on Personnel Economics (COPE) is an academic conference focused on the field of personnel economics. This branch of economics applies economic analysis to human resource management, organizational behaviour, and labour markets.

This year, on February 16th 2024, John Forth presented the latest findings from the WED Project, in the paper “Stick or twist? The impact of rising minimum wages on labour mobility”. This research finds no evidence that the increase in the wage floor changes rates of job-to-job mobility among low paid workers. This provides further evidence of the seemingly benign effects of minimum wage policy on employment dynamics in the UK.

Check out the presentation for more information about these findings here. You can also head over to the COPE website to find out more about this conference here.
