Join Dr. Damian Whittard at the ONS Research Excellence Series

Dr. Damian Whittard is looking forward to speaking next week at the ONS Research Excellence Series on secure data access supporting impactful research.

He will be sharing the story of DRAGoN (Data Research, Access and Governance Network) at UWE Bristol — a research group committed to developing secure, ethical, and privacy-conscious data access systems that span sectors, from health to labour markets.

His session, titled “Taming the DRAGoN: Building Bridges to Secure Data Access and Collaboration,” will delve into how the group is laying the groundwork for a more secure, responsible, and collaborative data ecosystem.

Dr. Whittard will also present the Wage and Employment Dynamics (WED) project as a case study — demonstrating how its pioneering data linkage work is now delivering tangible impacts in both research and policy. This case highlights how strong governance combined with methodological innovation can fully unlock the potential of administrative data.
